These interactive exercises provide children with the opportunity to enhance their reading skills, resembling tasks typically found in first or second-grade curriculums.

The image database utilized has been tailored to suit the cultural setting of West Africa to the best of our ability.

Within this resource, you will encounter a range of activities, including:

• Matching words with corresponding images
• Identifying missing syllables in a word
• Sequencing syllables or letters to form a word
• Writing words through dictation

The word sets are categorized into seven difficulty levels, aligning with the sequential nature of early reading instruction. Beginning with simple syllables (like P, T, M, L, R), learners progress gradually to more intricate combinations.

These activities were developed proactively as part of the Afrikalan Project initiative, dedicated to improving access to free educational software in West Africa.
They are available at no cost and are distributed in a non-commercial manner in accordance with the GNU-GPL license.
